Volunteer Support
St Andrew’s First Aid Volunteers are the lifeblood of our charity and dedicate thousands of hours to providing Scottish citizens with first aid assistance at events and vital life-saving education
Your fundraising efforts make a difference every day, helping our volunteers out on duty helping people in unforeseen emergencies within communities and events across Scotland.
How your fundraising supports our mission…
Volunteer Uniform and Equipment
Everything from uniforms, first aid supplies, equipment, vehicles, training materials and travel expenses needed to enable our volunteers to administer first aid. All of which require funds and we could not do this without your donations, course bookings and purchases from our online supplies shop.
Volunteer Training
Our Volunteers are provided with extensive first aid training and are trained to deal with a range of unexpected incidents and injuries ranging from minor injuries such as cuts and bruises, to life threatening situations such as cardiac arrests, ensuring that we will be there to give first class service and care in times of need, taking pressure off emergency services and the NHS.
Our volunteers are also trained to deliver community talks and demonstrations, running pop up demonstrations training people across Scotland essential first aid skills, helping us on our mission to create a nation of life savers and ensuring that nobody suffers of dies because they needed first aid and didn’t get it.
Youth Programmes
Our volunteers are trained to run youth programmes, Thistles and Cadets. Our Youth Groups are more than just teaching first aid skills. We are providing young people with a safe place to learn, grow and have fun. An environment for children and young people to build their confidence and self-worth and help them keep their community safe. All with the aim of helping our young people to reach their full potential with no barrier to stop them.
Community Activities
We aim to make first aid sessions accessible to all people in Scotland, developing a nation of lifesavers. Our volunteers are given extensive training to enable them to travel to different communities across Scotland to offer talks and demonstrations to the public and to those who might not have access to this education otherwise.
