Leave a Life-Saving Legacy

As a charity, we’ve been saving lives since 1882 and rely on the support and generosity of members of the public. People like you. We aim to leave a legacy of a nation of life-savers, making Scotland a safer and more resilient place to live.

We understand that when it comes to your Will, your family and loved ones come first. After taking care of love ones, could you help us to continue our life-saving work, protecting generations to come?

Your legacy can help us build our legacy

We work throughout the nation, from the busy central belt to the most remote areas. We supply first aid cover at events and football fixtures throughout Scotland, as well as work in communities, prisons, schools and youth groups, teaching first aid, and mental health first aid, in order to equip as many people as possible with vital life-saving skills.

Leaving a gift to St Andrew’s First Aid by naming us in your Will is a special way to ensure our future. It costs nothing during a lifetime but your support will have an invaluable and lasting impact.

There are a number of ways in which you can arrange to leave a legacy…

Specific Bequest

This is where a particular item of value is bequeathed, such as stocks and shares, proceeds of a Life Assurance Policy, property, furniture, jewellery, buildings and land.

Residuary Bequest

This is a gift of the residue of your estate or share of the residue, after other bequests to your family and friends have been made and all debts, taxes and expenses have been paid. If you have already made a Will, but want to add a residuary gift to St Andrew’s First Aid, your solicitor can advise you on how you can do this without affecting the specific gifts you leave your family and friends. Also, inflation will not erode the value of residuary gifts over the years..

Pecuniary Bequest

This is a specified sum of money determined when the Will is written and is known as a pecuniary bequest. The value of pecuniary legacies will decrease over time due to inflation and increases in the cost of living.
You can provide that a specific amount (for example, £1,000) will pass to St Andrew’s First Aid.
